Final card of the year!

...and have decided to start now for next year! :)

I got this idea from a blog I visited, and I'm so sorry that I don't remember whose blog it was, but she has beautiful cards.

I used Hero Arts stamp and die set for the deer, Nestibilities embossing folder for the snowflake background that I inked with white ink using a distress technique and Gina K. Designs papers all around! I also used Stampin' Up's Petite Pairs for the Merry Christmas, and also their 2 label punches which I adore for card phrases! I colored the deer in with Prisma Color Pencils and used odorless thinner to blend the colors and also used my Sekura clear star and red star pen to highlight a few areas on the sweater and deer.

Love how this one came out, got the idea from Hero Arts Blog. I used their matching stamp and embossing folder, and used Liquid Pearls on the tree. I used Cuttlebug's embossing folder on the white snow hill, and Stampin' Up's Merry Christmas stamp from Petite Pairs and stamped it on their 2 stamp punches. Used buttons and bakers twine from my stash.

I got this inspiration from Catherine Pooler, yet again! :) She used all Stampin' Up products, so, since I really don't have alot of SU, I improvised with my own stash. I used Club Scrap's Christmas stamp, Stampin' Up "Merry Christmas" stamp from the Petite Pairs (LOVE, LOVE these! The words fit ANYWHERE!), Club Scrap base and layering papers, punched the scalloped border using EK Success punch, inks used: Club Scrap Hybrid Moss, and Club Scrap Onyx, and ribbon from my own stash. I also used Club Scrap's Gilded Lily Glitter on the trees to make them shine and sparkle. 24 down, 26 to go! I'm having such fun, I might just keep going for next year ;)

This one took longer to make, I was waiting for stamps from Hero Arts to get her, but I love the way it turned out. Thanks toGiovana, from Gina K. Designs artist team who I cased this from :) I used Gina K Design papers, snowman stamp and joy stamp from her Wishing You Joy set, Hero Arts tree stamp. There are so many techniques on this card, I really like it! I sewed the edges of the papers, adhered pearls on the card and tree, used distress inks on the white card layer, edged the white card layer with white embossing, used Prisma Color pencils on the snowman, used distressed embossing powder on the tree, along with liquid pearls, Sekura glitter pens on the snowman's buttons, and my own stash of ribbons and buttons :) I also edged the snowbank with glitter.

Final one for tonight uses more Wishing You Joy stamp set, from Gina K. Designs, along with the matching background paper from that kit. A big thank you to Tina Gilliland, from Gina K Design's Design Team there! I think I've CASED them all so far, and probably will keep going! Their ideas are great! I colored in the snowman with Prisma Color pencils, blending with odorless thinner and adding some ribbons and pearls. I also embossed the background with some dots to break up the white, kind of looks like snow falling in the background. I also like a little sparkle this year, so I'm adding in Sekura Gelly Roll sparkle pens in where I can.

I'm really liking this little guy :) So this one I lifted from Gina K. Designs, she made an ornament out of it, but I really wanted a card, so I improvised, and love it! I love the fact that I can use the stamp that she provided with the Labels 16 Nestibilities Die :)The Merry Christmas stamp and punchout of the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I also used Sekura Stardust clear and red for the penguin, rim of die and tips of snowflakes. I used Tim Holtz' new Festive Berries distress ink on the stamp/die... love the new colors. On to #3!

Here's design number 1, thanks to Gina K. Design and her newest kit "Wishing You Joy".

I used my distress inks and embossing technique for the background papers, colored in the stamp with my Faber Castell Big Brush markers and added Sekura Clear Star to the snowflake tips and scarf, and used my Cricut to cut out the scalloped circle and white circle base and popped it up on pop dots over her ribbon...

So I ordered my new Tim Holtz Winter Distress Inks from Custom Crops, and inside my package was this tiny little bag of goodies.... upon further investigation, they gave me a link to make this really cute project! Love this stuff, it used alot of techniques and metal goodies and feathers :) I started out making the cute little project, and then turned it into an ATC that I emailed to my Paper Artist Online friend, to use in the banner for their 3rd anniversary! Gave me my mojo back for crafting!! Can't wait for the weekend, it's going to be a Christmas Cardmaking weekend all around!

I was inspired by StampTV to do this card, it's a tie-dye butterfly. The butterfly stamp is embossed in black, and I used markers to squiggle on some color. The plain base papers and "Happy Everything" stamp are from Club Scrap, and the flowered mat is by Stampin' Up!

I found this card idea at Splitcoast Stampers. It's called an Easel Card. I also continue to practice my Prisma Colored Pencil Technique. Didn't need as much Mineral Spirits on this smooth paper, not sure if I like pencils on this type of paper, this may be a great paper for Copics.

Papillon ATC

Used a watercolor technique from Annette for this ATC, where you use Mulberry White paper, Watercolor Crayons (in my case I used my Gelatos and Watercolors crayons) and also foam brushes to wet the paper with the color that was placed on the tips of my foam brushes... Began by stamping my image with Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder and away we go! Thanks Annette!

Now I should be able to start posting on this blog with some creative stuff! Now my layouts were creative, and I had a blast doing them, but I need to get inky!!!!! Maybe get some projects done now!! My project for today was to make a mini 7 photo album holder for my brother's exwife (of 20 years) who I reconnected with. She is also the mother of my 2 nephews who are close to 30 years old. I had pics that she never saw and wanted printed, so I printed them, but gave her a mini album of her and her grandkids that she gave me pics of ;) I used the Solstice kit and my Bind-It-All...love that little machine!

Altered Book

Crossposting here ;) from my 365 Blog... but perfect for this one as well.

I've always got projects going for pictures, albums, altered art... so my goal this winter is to complete at least 1/2 of the ones I've already started.... big feat, but I think I can do it ;) Here's a pic of my latest to finish. I started this altered book about 4 years ago, I only got the inside pages cut, glued and painted with acrylic paint. Then started on the embellies. So here is what I did today. It's going to be an altered book, with pics of our day with the grandkids at the park this summer.... The pictures came out great, now to just finish the book so I can add them ! Coming up with a design for the cover...that's another story... maybe it will just floooow... this is a great way to use up all the swaps I've been involved in, everyone had such beautiful artwork, I wanted to display it!

Ok... here's my day 11.... I loved that he put purple and blue together, I love those 2 colors together... am also loving that he showed us how to make our own stamps... however, that may mean I have to get a Vagabond to do it....hmmmmm..... Well, I used his musical note mask instead....Boy he really got my creativity working again, I'm glad of that, and also made me realize .... I NEED LOTS MORE STUFF!!! LOL!!!

Here's day 10... I didn't have the snowman, but I had the negative side of the snowman that came in his grungeboard seasonal pack a few years back (I knew I didn't want to throw the negative side away for a reason), so I traced it on plain grungeboard, got my exacto knife out, painted them and VOILA!!! Found some plastic snowflakes from another tag project a couple years ago with him, and put those on... really looking forward to my Cuttlebug after seeing everything he's doing with dies this year...

So here's day 7, and the easier way for me to do it ... I had the canvas, but not the grungepaper, so after I sprayed the canvas, I stuck it to the back of another sticky canvas.... kind of worked, it was pliable.. .then I just cut the petals out by hand, didn't have a punch... or die machine...

Made my own mists to spray... and used a stripe for a background instead of the woodgrain....

I don't have alot of his stuff anymore... but I'm determined to get more again!!!!!!

Here's my day 3, I was discouraged when I didn't have the bird (but I used one of TH clear stamp sheets on plain grungeboard), and no tissue tape (used my handy dandy ATG gun, and plastered a few strips on the back of musical note ribbon) .... I even went as far as to clip a little bit of our garland off our Christmas tree and give it a hair cut.... :D

Getting inky this weekend!!! So, I've got a wedding cake to do for 10/10/10 (hmmmm).... this weekend I'll be making the Autumn Leaves out of gumpaste to start the decorations (I'll post pics when I'm done).... but I've also dragged out some Club Scrap kits, my Tim Holtz inks, my TH masks and my tags! I can't wait for TH to do his 12 tags of Christmas, but in the meantime, I might catch up on the tags I'm missing from last year, or his monthly challenges that were a few years back. I did most of the them but DID miss a few. I also dragged out my hubby's Bamboo, might give that a whirl and play on the computer with that, haven't use it at all and someone was saying that it's great for digi scrapbooking.... Happy Friday!

Alright, enough playing the last few months. The weather here in Vermont is soon to be cool, and that means it's time to spend time in the house and do some crafty things. I think I've found my motivation again, so I'm going to try and get some crafty things done this week with Club Scrap's newest kit, Arts & Crafts. I'm also going to work on my blog a little bit and spruce it up. Time to get busy!!!! Tried my hand at FFCing, but in this town it's hard to get people to jump on board with the economy the way it is.... guess I'll have to enjoy the kits, and keep them to myself ;)

I've been dealing with the puppy for the past couple of months and now that things are looking up, and he's mostly house trained, it's easier to get into card making and project making again!! Another day in the life of Parvo...

So Beau is gaining weight, he's almost 11 weeks and he's at about 13-14 pounds. He's eating and drinking really well. He's off all antibiotics (since last weekend he had a minor toxic episode). The only thing he's on now is Fortiflora dietary supplement and another squirty tube of stuff that aids in the digestion of his food. So far so good, we just have to try and stop the diarrhea, which is a fight on its own! He does good for a few days and then it's hershey squirts again.... still on a bland diet... as long as we control the diarrhea, he'll be good as new! No vomiting in 4 weeks which is great!!

PS - any advice on Parvo healing and diarrhea control is greatly appreciated!

This is a waterfall card, I used Club Scrap's Common Thread kit.... I'm thinking I don't like the papers that much, especially since I got this month's kit ;).... When the tab is pulled, the other tabs have a waterfall effect and show decorated inchies underneath.

This is an Expandable File Project from Club Scrap.... it's really cool, it has 9 files inside so that you can organize things. I think I'll be using this as a Christmas gift this year, and put some of my handmade ready to go cards in there!

We are hoping that he doesn't have a relapse, he can't get his 8 week shots for another 2 weeks, just in case.... but he won't be segrigated at his next appointment! He can go in the front door like all the other animals and even play on the floor!

Looks like I'll be outside all day since we've got around 85 degrees all weekend, yeah!!!! Maybe I can get him housetrained, somewhat, he is using the pads, although his aim isn't really good yet, typical male..... ;)

During the night, I'll be making more cards.... I've got about 600 or so to sell.... WOW! My daughter has agreed to find a place to sell them, and I'd split the money with her..... I'll make them, she'll sell them.... hopefully they'll be some craft shows coming up soon.

Spoke to the breeder this am, both her and the vet are putting him on more antibiotics, gave him fluid last night and they say he is on the mend! He ate really good last night at 2 in the am, and was ready to play today!! So we're heading back out to get him!! Woohoo!

AN UPDATE ON MR. BOJANGLES!!

I have news! We spoke to the breeder tonight, and she told us to immediately bring the dog to her and we did. We drove 3 hours tonight, just got back home it's 1:40 am. We got there, she was in tears, she got him to drink, she gave him fluid therapy (iv) got him to eat some yogurt, and got him moving more. She is keeping him overnight and taking him to her vet in the morning. The black boxer that she got from Texas IS the one that got her dogs and my dogs sick. 4 of her dogs got the parvo virus along with her Malteze who is pregnant. Not a good thing on all ends. First she called the breeder in texas and chewed her a new butthole, along with calling the AG's office on her. She was very concerned over our dog, (we both have been bleaching everything all day). As soon as we got there, she immediately took him over. She has a good feeling about it, she thinks that Beau is on the "coming out" end of it, but she wants to take him to her vet in the am to make sure. If all's ok I am going back to get him on Friday (he's getting alot of love there, and isn't being left alone like he would be at a vet's office.) Her husband and daughter help her and give the boxers lots of love.
And she gave me the all the $$ for the vet bill when we were leaving. All in all, she is living up to her end plus some, she feels terrible, took full responsibility and is really trying to help Beau out. We thought he was on death's door tonight driving up there, but after staying with her and her family for 2 hours and watching her with her dogs, they are really trying to do right.

Beau gave us big boxer kisses when we left, but we felt good about it, and he'll be getting the right care with her and the vet.

Thanks for all the prayer ladies! Keep them coming, they seem to be working so far!!!!!!!

Here are 2 card that I did for Club Scrap's PSL Scrapbooking league, they've added cardmaking this year, so I'm all in!! This is our practice week, no points given, but here are the 2 that I did so far. These are done using Club Scrap's Gimme A Ring kit, and I handpainted both card fronts, 1 with a Thistle, and 1 with a Sunflower.

Her frog is sooo cute, but I got these Penny Black stamps the other day and thought I'd try them out. Also used my Copic markers on the coloring of the stamp, love those markers :)

The paper is, of course, from Club Scrap, and the flowers, I love these, got them at Oriental Trading Company. Not really sure if I like the card, but I'm waiting for more rubberstamps to come, but wanted to finish this one.
